Longtime Linton musicians ready for their 5th LMF appearance

John Danner, Kevin Griffin, and The Lucky Astrology Boys
John Danner, Kevin Griffin, and The Lucky Astrology Boys perform at the 2008 Linton Music Festival

When the sun goes down on Saturday night, and the stage lights go up you can expect to see the Little Red Roosters (formerly the Roosters) do what they do best–play solid, classic rock ‘n roll.

John Danner and crew are no strangers to Linton’s music community. Danner, Kevin Griffin, and Mike Stewart have been playing gigs in the area for the better part of 2 decades. The trio will be joined by guitarist Tyler Parker for what we believe will truly be a very special set of music.

We are excited to have Danner and company back for another festival! Read more about the Little Red Roosters in an article from the Greene County Daily World.

Healing Sixes will return for another round of LMF

Healing Sixes

Healing Sixes are out to prove that blues rock is as healthy and vibrant as ever. And they’ve done an exceptional job thus far – releasing a handful of outstanding albums, and playing alongside some of the most renowned names in rock royalty. Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, and consisting of band members Doug Henthorn (vocals, guitar), Eric Saylors (guitar), Wade Parish (drums), and Jeff Stone (bass), Healing Sixes has released a total of three studio albums thus far, 1998′s ‘Maple;’ 2002′s ‘Enormosound;’ and 2007′s ‘One Less Friend to Ignore,’ as well as an exceptional live DVD, 2008′s ‘Live at Harby’s,’ which captures the band in an intimate, acoustic setting.

Previously, Healing Sixes has played shows alongside the likes of Ted Nugent, Bret Michaels, The Why Store, Todd Rundgren, Night Ranger, Blue Oyster Cult, and Hoobastank (among countless others), and welcomed none other than drummer Jason Bonham into their band for several years. The album on which Bonham appears, ‘Enormosound,’ was also overseen by much in-demand producer, Kevin Shirley. Additionally, Healing Sixes’ new album, ‘BLUEJAY’ (which comes out Tuesday, September 7th, 2010), marks the first time that the previously released single, “Fine Time,” which features blues virtuoso Joe Bonamassa on guitar, has appeared on a full length release. The tune was originally issued as a maxi-single in 2009, and has been played regularly on such respected rock stations as WFBQ, WTTS, WRZX, WKHY, and WLBC.

Currently, Healing Sixes are hard at work in the studio, putting the finishing touches on ‘BLUEJAY’ (which will be available for purchase via iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, ItsAboutMusic.com, and the band’s website on September 7th, 2010) – the follow-up to ‘One Less Friend to Ignore.’ The quartet has been able to keep their live chops up by playing several shows this summer, and will be hitting the tour trail more thoroughly come the Fall, when the announce a string of US dates to support their forthcoming album. Healing Sixes are always about emphasizing that their songs create a strong, vibrant – yet never formulated – rock sound, which will undoubtedly be on display once more on their forthcoming studio album. Get ready to rock once more with Healing Sixes!
