The 2012 Linton Music Festival (8th Annual) will be held on the weekend prior to Labor Day. The dates are August 31 through September 2nd. Mark your calendars now for 30 bands on multiple stages and as usual, admission is free!

The Linton Music Festival Scholarship is a post-secondary scholarship competition, which is open to everyone in all areas of study, whether a degree or certificate program, undergraduate or graduate studies, etc. A one-time prize in the amount of five-hundred dollars ($500) will be awarded to one deserving individual, who may use the award towards: tuition, room and board, school supplies, or other normal and usual expenses relating to post-secondary education.

The recipient will be chosen through a points-based system with each applicant earning points through community volunteerism, especially in support of Linton Music Festival events. These points will accumulate from year-to-year, so an applicant who is not selected shall retain his or her points and may re-apply for the scholarship in following years, as long as they remain eligible to receive the award. In addition to the day-of event, points may also be awarded for completion of various, coordinated tasks that contribute to the advancement of the Linton Music Festival (examples: handbill design, event planning, on-campus promotion, etc.), or that contribute to the advancement of a Linton Community Development Corporation sponsored event.

Volunteer opportunities shall be listed at www.lintonmusicfest.com/volunteer as they become available. Those considering application for this scholarship must first register online with the Linton Music Festival as an event volunteer in some capacity. A volunteer must be fourteen years of age or older.

In Fall 2012, the Scholarship Committee will gather again to award another scholarship.

The Linton Community Development Corporation (LCDC) strives to enhance the overall quality of life for its existing and future residents, businesses, and employers by planning, coordinating, and supporting efforts that will improve the local economy; reinforce community pride; expand opportunities available to local and regional entrepreneurs; provide additional educational, cultural, and leadership opportunities to area youth; enrich local beautification efforts; and highlight the community’s heritage and unique sense of place.

Thanks to Lakeside Body Shop, we’ll be providing a live video feed from the Linton Family Pharmacy Main Stage for all of you music fans that can’t make it to the show.

Feel free to print your own copy or pick one up at the festival! The physical copies are being provided by the Greene County Daily World.

The Linton Music Festival is a free, non-exclusive event that offers entertainment for all ages.  It is organized and staffed by volunteers whose goals are to provide top-notch musical entertainment to festival guests, and to provide local artists with a venue and an audience for their music.  The Linton Music Festival was founded in 2005, and last year over ten thousand guests from all over the Midwest enjoyed the festival.

Pedal a little harder, push a little further.
Leave a little sweatier, and become part of something greater.

Ride with Rotary to eradicate polio from the planet and supply worthy high school students with scholarships for college.

A great cause and great scenery come together for this beautiful fall ride, starting at Linton’s Humphreys Park and rolling by the Goose Pond area (the number one location for migratory birds in Indiana), as well as river crossings, the Richland-Plummer Creek covered bridge, and some challenging hills for the more adventurous.

The shorter 25 mile tour will ride through the Goose Pond area and track through a portion of the Greene-Sullivan State Forrest.

Each ride has SAG stops with free snacks and drinks.

At the end of your scenic ride through Greene County, please join us for free refreshments.
