Rumor Factor
Four years ago, , a buzz began in Bloomington, Indiana about the band RUMOR HAS IT… and the power they infuse into a mix of MTV,radio favorites and killer originals.
That buzz grew into a rumble in 2001 as the band changed their name to Rumor Factor and began broadening their playing territory to enclude all of Indiana and Kentucky. Quickly learning what makes their crowds tick The band brings elements of spontaneity and humor along with fantastic musicianship to the stage during each performance.
Now, the rumble has grown into a roar as RUMOR FACTOR… releases their debut CD GroovinDoobuliss. Receiving airplay and on-air interviews from several radio stations, as well as, sponsorship arrangements from Jägermusic.com, SIT Strings ,Samick/Silvertone Guitars,Wasburn guitars, Dirtbag clothing and Rimshot Drum sticks and D & D Custom Picks, full houses and packed dance floors are to be expected anytime RUMOR FACTOR… is in the house. The edgy, rocked-out, power guitars and hook-filled melodies on GroovinDoobuliss will have you playing air guitar and screaming “What’s the name of my band, Bitch?” before Mom (or the neighbors) can tell you to turn it down!
In 2002 RUMOR FACTOR’s music found itself all over the place, holding the number 15 spot in the alternative rock section for over 18 monthes on the popular music website LOUDENERGY.com as well as being featured on the latest compilation CD put out by JAGERMEISTER starting with a printing of over 150,000 copies distributed nationwide. RUMOR FACTOR also found themselves opening for several national acts in 2002 from HOOTIE and the BLOWFISH , to opening the JAGERMUSIC TOUR with DROWNING POOL,COAL CHAMBER ,ILL NINO, and 40 BELOW SUMMER . Rumor Factor “GroovinDoobuliss”CD was also voted “Best local Cd of the year” in the B-Town music news magazine as well as earning second place as “Best singer songwriter”.
2003 has thrown more attention in the bands direction, with 3 songs from GroovinDoobuliss being featured on the release of SHANES WORLD CAMPUS INVASION a nationally distributed adult film that has recieved tons of press, including Fox news,CBS,NBC,ABC, and many local news program.
RUMOR FACTOR has been added to this years Jager Tour opening for Saliva,Breaking Benjamin,HED PE,Stereomudand, Systematic. RUMOR FACTOR were recently featured on L.A.Lloyds Rock 30 syndicated radio show going out to 24 stations across the US and Canada. RUMOR FACTOR are also on two E.V.O.R compilation CDs “Best of EVOR” and EVOR “Best Metal’, these CDs go out to radio stations and labels all over the country. EVOR is a web based music program designed to help artist get their music in the hands of the masses.Bands United has also added RUMOR FACTOR music to their resent compilation disk.
RUMOR FACTOR are available in two seperate, unique yet consistant forms as an opening act for national or regional bands preforming an energetic original music set of 45min. – 1 hour . Or Playing a typical club gig, three, 1 hour sets with all your favorite kick ass radio hits in a club setting with some originals mixed in to please the Factor fanatics, complete with all the familiar party trick that seems to make everyone wanna join the show.
